Scientific essential oil Skincare Routine

Core Principle: Essential oil skincare mimics the skin's lipid barrier structure, allowing oil-soluble components to penetrate the skin, replenish lipids, repair the skin barrier, and lock in moisture. Suitable for dry skin, sensitive skin, combination skin (oily on the surface but dry underneath), dry skin in autumn and winter, or those with a damaged skin barrier. Oily skin types should choose lightweight oils (such as squalane) with caution.

Standard Operating Procedures (with skin type recommendations)

▶ Step 1: Gentle Cleansing (All Skin Types)

Key Points: Use an amino acid cleanser to avoid damaging the skin's lipid barrier with soap-based cleansers.

Dry/Sensitive Skin: Use an amino acid cleanser throughout the day, with water around 35℃ (avoid hot water that strips away oil).

▶ Step 2: Warm Compress to Open Pores

Method: Apply a warm towel (around 40℃) to the face for 30 seconds (or use a facial steamer) to soften the stratum corneum and promote oil absorption.

▶ Step 3: Oil Massage (Core Step)

Dosage: 2-3 drops (3-4 drops for dry skin, 1-2 drops for oily skin), warm in palms.

Technique: Press all over the face: from cheeks → forehead → nose → chin, focusing on dry areas (such as nasolabial folds, around the eyes).

Lymphatic drainage: Gently push from chin to collarbone to promote metabolism (improve dullness).

▶ Step 4: Apply Facial Oil to Lock in Oil (Essential for dry skin/damaged skin barrier)

Method: Oil compress method: Apply a thick layer of essential oil (5-8 drops), cover with a damp cotton pad/plastic wrap, and apply a warm compress for 5 minutes (enhances penetration). Suitable for extremely dry skin.

▶ Step 5: Wipe away excess oil (Essential for oily/combination skin)

Tools: Use a cotton pad soaked in warm water (or a moisturizing toner) to gently wipe away excess oil.

Purpose: To prevent oil buildup and breakouts, and to preserve the nutrients absorbed by the skin.

▶ Step 6: Subsequent Skincare (Key to Moisturizing)

Moisturizing:

Dry Skin: Use a highly occlusive cream (such as Curel cream) to form an "oil + cream" moisture-locking layer.
